Sound Board Quick Start
FADERS
MIC 1 - the host’s Mic - behind the sound board
MIC 2 - guest Mic at window end of desk
MIC 3 - on the small stand - now running straight from the new sound board!
PHN - the telephone - see Phone Hybrid
AUX 1 - (auxiliary) mini plug for any headphone jack on computer, ipod, iphone, etc
AUX 2 - (auxiliary) mini plug for any headphone jack on computer, ipod, iphone, etc
AUX 3 - (auxiliary) RCA connectors
CD 1 - CD player 1, now running straight from the new sound board!
CD 2 - CD player 2 now running straight from the new sound board!
TT’s - Turntables - both are still running through the DJ mixer which is plugged into the board on this fader (TT’s)
AUTO - Automation AKA the server computer
COMP -the studio computer - the tower is to the right of your feet and the monitor is behind the new sound board
BUTTONS
PGM - select this button to put the fader On Air
PGM monitor select - listen to what is On Air in your monitors by selecting PGM here
AUD - allows you to preview a fader without putting it On Air
AUD monitor select - listen to what you are previewing in the monitors by selecting AUD here
AIR monitor select - not assigned - nothing
DIALS
CUE: ignore for now Headphones: clearly Monitor: yup
HOW TO
Put CJMP into Automation Mode:
- Ensure that the AUTO fader is up to the mark
- Ensure that AUTO fader ON button is active and PGM is active (red light lit at bottom of fader and green light lit at top of fader)
Put another source On-Air
- Ensure ON button of desired fader is active (lit red)
- Ensure PGM button of desired fader is active (top green light lit)
Listen to the On-Air Signal in the monitors
- Select PGM button from the Monitor Input Select area (top green light lit on the far right of the board, under the AIR button)
If any of the microphone faders are ON, the monitors automatically turn off
To Preview a source
- Ensure ON button of desired fader is active
- Ensure AUD button of desired fader is active (2nd green light lit)
- Ensure PGM button of desired fader is NOT active (top green light is not on)
- Select AUD button from the Monitor Input Select area (2nd green light lit on the far right of the board)
